Phuket Weather 29, 30 and 31 July 2013

With July we close third month of Easy Day Thailand weather reports, the months saw as normal less wind and just some rain. There has been some storm but only for two or three days. Overall sea was calm.

Last three days of July we had alternation of Sun and clouds, yesterday all day large dark clouds keep forming in the sky, sometime short but intense rain falls. This morning though would have rain all day, but by midday sun was shining and when I left to Bangkok from the airport windows can see the blue sky and wonder full sea.

Arrived in Bangkok was raining, during late afternoon wind was blowing bit stronger and wiped the tick clouds away, still very hot and humid.

About the sea don't forget that Summer is best time for diving in Phuket, water is clear, less people underwater, can combine best hotels deals with diving packages and enjoy this wonderful activity.

Phuket weather 27 and 28 July 2013

Last weekend in July was very enjoyable with sunshine all Saturday and very good weather despite some clouds on Sunday. As usual for July no rain but today bit more humidity the past few days, overall hot.

Sea is flat and wind is down, today we run our second sunset cruise and dinner on MV Sai Mai. As from expectation was a very pleasant late afternoon out at sea, wind was a bit stronger then morning but we found a great location behind Coral Island where enjoy snorkeling and then dinner.

Phuket Weather 26 July 2013

Another nice sunny day, and hopefully this weather will be stable for the weekend. Also wind calmed down and waves on shore are much smaller than last week, very good to enjoy a swim but still being careful about rip currents that could be present even with quieter sea conditions.

Many people are afraid to find only rainy days if they come to Phuket during low season but truth is that most days are like today, sunny with some harmless clouds passing by. Another positive note is that the popular beaches like Patong are much more enjoyable than during high season because they are not overcrowded, and do not forget that during low season all hotels are much cheaper.

Weather got quickly to a stable situation and all day was a wonderful time to enjoy any kind of activities.

Blue sky all day, no wind, rain or anything could bother during an holiday in Phuket.

There is always something to be aware of and this time is sunburn, after few days of bad weather everyone want to get on the beach and many like sun bathing, be carefull as air is very clear and sun is strong, so even if you feel cool and comfortable could arrive back at hotel red and burning.

Best cure for sun burn is Aloe Vera gel, this will cool down your skin temperature, re hydrate it and will allow you too sleep well, then be careful next day.

Heavy rain all night and during morning, so couldn't dream better for second part of teh day when sky became blue and sun was shining.

Never feel too bad in the morning if you have booked something, weather at tropics can change during the day bringing in beautiful surprises. Don't forget that could also start good and end up in rain, however is always enjoy at best.

Phuket Weather 23 July 2012 - Khao Pansa Day

Today is first day of Buddhist Lent, Pansa in Thai language, from now for three lunar mounts the Monks will stay in the temples, this is because is the start of the rain period, Sop they will spend more time on meditation. on Khao Pansa Day also many Thai male that haven't done yet their Monkshood period enter the temples.

Weather is on line with this, rain start falling heavily last night and was raining all day long, with some sun strays between midday and afternoon. In the morning wind was sometime strong and waves offshore during storms could be around two meters.

being a Thailand public holidays many people enjoyed Khao Pansa Day resting, perfect with air cooled by rain. No alcohol sales and may restaurants will be closed.

From tomorrow weather should improve to then go to sunshine and now wind by the weekend.

Phuket weather 22 July 2013 - Asarnha Bucha Day

Today is Thailand public holidays as it is Asarnha Bucha Day, this also means we are at the 15th night of the eighth month of the Buddhist Lunar calendar.

So how was the weather for those that have a day off? Not so bad, wind in the morning was strong and blew all clouds then it went down after mid day, leaving a clear sky and a surprising flat sea.

Today is the celebration of Lord Buddha first sermon, is a day for relax and celebration before enter the three months Buddhist Lent. So also at Kathu everything was ready for celebration, parade started with bands, costumes and authority dressed for the event... but a storm came from West and over the hills, despite short rain it was strong and the procession almost dissolved, everyone looked for a shelter waiting for the rain to stop.

Asalha Bucha Day anyway is holidays so soon everyone was enjoying the food stalls and shopping at the markets. And if you are on holidays is a perfect day for an Island tour and see a bite of real local life.

Phuket weather 19-20 and 21 July 2013

Another week end without rain or storms as it was from forecasts, likely, wind is still stronger than usual but not dangerous or too strong.

During Friday and Saturday was sunshine for all day and the wind kept air fresh, so very good condition. As usual a lot of people down the beaches to enjoy the sun and playing with waves.

During change in tide waves are bigger this weekend because of full moon, so be careful and stay in shallow water.

This morning a renewed MV Sai Mai was ready to sail for three days to Phi Phi, however waves offshore can be higher then 1.5 meters so customers decided to get to Racha Yai instead.
Today sky was cover in clouds but it didn't rain.

Phuket Weather 18 July 2013

Against forecast we had a pleasant day, no rain at all still a moderate wind that actually isn't normal for July when sea is often flat.

Clouds where predominant on blue sky however as said the day has been really good allowing to enjoy all normal activities during holidays. Waves are between one meter and two meters because of the wind, sometime strong wind gusts but nothing serious.

Seems that from nest day will stay as now but we don't expect rain, ahve a look to satellite picture to see the evolution.

Phuket weather 17 July 2013

After few days of clouds and rain yesterday today a beautiful surprise...sunshine, the wind picked up a bit but still acceptable. Waves are now higher however going out with diving boats and big boat isn't a problem, would avoid long trip with speed boat.

From Kata hill can see clear sky to the horizon however forecast for tomorrow say more clouds and stronger wind.

Phuket weather 15 and 16 July 2013

The week started with clouds and a bit of wind, sea still good only small waves, so a bit bumpy if you go for a speed boat tour to the islands.

Overall the day wasn't bad with no rain but either no Sun. Then this morning just after dawn a lot of rain came down for about two hours.

Then stopped but left the sky cover in tick clouds and here and there a light rain was falling, still wild is mild and waves let enjoy the sea.

Our suggestion to really enjoy a day tour is the Phi Phi Premium tour, transfer to Phi Phi are in first class, The saloon is very comfortable, with a private toilet and if weather is good a huge roof top. Arrived in Phi Phi change to a speed boat, just enough to enjoy it. This way during days as now the tour will be a pleasure.

With still fresh air in the morning and a breeze blowing gently was a great day for those like to golf. Golfing in Phuket is very easy with many different golf courses, two most popular are located in Kathu. Loch Palm and Red Mountain there are next each other and belong to same owner but with very different characteristics.

Weather will stay as now for at least few days, it will depends how strong the Hurricane on Taiwan will get and if it will move down to South China Sea, sending some wind and may be some rain here or move north leaving Phuket untouched.

Phuket weather 8 and 9 July 2013

Not news is a good news, in past two days weather was perfect on line with statistics, only a bit of rain yesterday and today sunshine.

Sea is calm and basically no wind, as normal the south west monsoon wind is weak now and if we won't have any Tropical storm over Vietnam we should have a great July to enjoy the beach and all activities.

Today is an important day for Muslims as Ramadan starts, for 30 days they won't eat during daylight and is time for meditation and charity. The start of holy month is difficult to be determined as depends when the raising moon that open the eighth month has been spotted.

Last, a warning, despite good weather and good sea condition keep an eye to red flags on the beaches because rip currents will continue until the Monsoon will change from North East end of October or early November. So enjoy with care and attention.

Weather in Phuket 6 and 7 July 2013

Over the weekend we saw hot day on Saturday with no rain and no wind, and most sunshine, on line with forecast and Stats for July.

Then during the night some rain fallen but not  much as last week.

In the morning clouds and grey sky left them space for sun and a god and dry day without any wind.











Sea is flat and no wave perfect to enjoy diving, snorkeling and boat tours. The MV Sai Mai was ready at Chalong pier this morning for a five days cruise after two weeks of maintenance and renovation.

Phuketweather 4 and 5 July 2013

We have out the two days together to give a better idea how weather evolved during first week of July.

On 4th July weather in Phuket was the worst since days, wind, heavy rain and all day sky covered with clouds and cool air, it was last day of bad weather and during the night the elements calmed down.

So the morning of the 5th sun was shining and nor rain even at horizon.

The wind blew mild to strong during the day and kept sky clean and dried humidity, has a very good day with the cool breeze from the sea. Now wind is going down and as from forecast tomorrow we should start a period of good weather and calm sea.

After a night with heavy rain the morning wasn't bad at all and on the beach everyone was working to prepare for the day.

This is the left over of tropical storm on South Chine sea two days ago, tomorrow experts say that wind will blow stronger and will clear the sky in preparation to a beautiful weekend. The satellite image Thai meteorological dept shows the actual situation.

Phuket Weather 2 July 2013

Much worst than expected, the tropical storm "Rumbia' hit South Thailand with its tale, changing variable day into a heavy rain afternoon. This morning large part of the sky where clear.

Then slowly in the afternoon more clouds gathered and changed the day into rain. This should now stay for two days and then back with normal variable weather.

Wind was quiet just strong wind gusts before heavy rain, however worst day should be Thursday then calm down to get back to good on week end.
