Phuket Weather 6 June 2013

Another day we can't complain about. Like yesterday the sky over Phuket Island has been mostly covered by a thin veil of clouds, sun was shining for most part of the day and we got no rain at all.

In the morning on my way back from Phuket Town I stopped at Bang Wad Reservoir in Kathu and took this picture.

We can see that water level in the "lake" is quite low meaning that it's not raining much in the overall, so for those who are not confident in coming to Phuket during the low season...don't be scared! 

Phuket Weather 5 June 2013

Today weather in Phuket has been stable. Mostly covered sky with occasional sun rays making their way through the clouds. It was a good day to move around because it hasn't rained at all for the whole day and temperature wasn't too hot.

The sea, as usual this time in June, is quite rough because of the strong wind from south west. This hasn't spoiled the day trips by boat anyway, a bit bumpy but still enjoyable.

With the higher but reasonable amount of rain during this period is nice to take part of activities like river tubing at Kapong since there is more water in the rivers making it more fun.

Dawn at Kathu hills

Most cloudy in the morning, during night rain refreshed the air so very good sleep.

 

If reading everyday the report think is raining a lot in real it isn't the steam from Kathu waterfall is still very low during a storm water level goes up a bit but then soon back to low level. Surely the forest loves rain and now every thing is green and jungle is tick.

Today will be a long journey to get to  Koh Samui and then Koh Tao where can find more sun and flat sea. This because the two side of Thailand isthmus are affected by different climate patterns. So during Summer the Gulf of Thailand sea is almost flat.

Phuket weather 3 June 2013

The day started very well as can see from panoramic view of Phuket Town this morning.

Mostly blue sky but still some drop, rain was falling during night, probably during the day some more cloud and more rain, however start the day enjoying fresh air and sun isn't bad at all.

The view is from Khao Rang or Rang hill that overlook Phuket Town, people like to go there in the morning to enjoy sunrise and do some fitness in the morning fresh air.

Phuket Town view to East 

During a city tour or island tour here is where we have lunch at famous Tunk Ka Cafe, delicious Thai food to enjoy with great view of Phuket Town. It isn't possible to enjoy an early morning cafe here but it is a great place for dinner after shopping and visit the old town.

Phuket weather 2 June 2013

During night strong wind blew and rain started.

Still at mid day is raining and probably will be like this all day.

Normal for this time the year anyway swim in the sea even i a sunny day isn't possible from may til end of October because of strong rip current.

A lot to alternative things to do in Phuket while here in the summer to enjoy the hotels low rates.

Important is to pick up hotels in places that offers all services and facilities so is perfect time for Patong with shopping center, thousands of restaurants and wide choice of hotels.

Kamala Bay 

While Kamala beach that is perfect location during winter because of great becah with real beach lifes, hundreds of restaurants just on beach e front. Startegic position between Patong and Surin so easy access to best beaches such as Laem Singh and Surin and not to far from Layan Beach.

However as said during summer staying in Kamala you will feel isolated, still many restaurant open, very easy to get to Fanatsea show that is located there. But will need to enjoy the hotel pool for a swim as big waves smash the beach all day and all traditional beach business that make the place unique are closed.

How to get to Kamala beach? Easy from airport can turn right at Thalang traffic light get to Chern Talay and follow the road along the ocean and enjoy the beautiful view, soon down the hill after Surin baech will see Kamala bay.

From Patong take the beach road that is one way north, at the circle stay on the right and follow the road with sea on your left, pass Kalim the Nakalay, go over the steep hill and when the road start to slope down will see Kamala Bay.

Phuket weather 1 June 2013

We started June with and hot day with sun shining all day long. Wind start to pick up a bit and normally during June we should see strong wind and big waves but less rain.

I believe the best at the end is to enjoy day by day the holidays and try to find best thing do..or do the easiest.....relax and do nothing :-)

And for the evening don't forget Phuket Town with a lot of, pubs and small restaurant and great atmosphere, small local markets such as the week end market. Best i go to town around mid afternoon, not too hot and can enjoy shopping for souvenirs and local product, see the 19th century houses and then pick one of the restaurant to enjoy dinner with tai food or international food.

If like to stay late then many pubs and restaurants offer live bands music, last night we really enjoyed the Route 68 pub and restaurant
